A terminal the local acquirer will not board is a cabinet with no way to take money. Confirm the certified model before the order.

No staff, no app install

A corridor kiosk has one chance to explain itself. The card reader, the screen and the signage carry the whole guest flow, and if any of the three is unclear the machine is simply a box that nobody uses.

Signage at a metre

The questions a guest asks are always the same: how much, how long, and how do I give it back. All three belong on the cabinet at a metre, in the language the corridor speaks.

  • Tariff and daily cap, printed and legible at a metre.
  • Return instructions on the cabinet, not only in the app.
  • A phone number for a stuck pack, answered by a person.

What the alert has to say

Unattended means a failed bay is discovered by a guest unless the software raises it. Ask what the alert contains, who receives it and how fast, and test it once with a bay deliberately emptied before the cabinet goes live.

Before the order

  • Terminal certification: for your market, in writing.
  • Route: who restocks, on which days, at what hour.
  • Alert test: one empty bay before go live.
