Stack height and packed weight are the two numbers an event contract asks for. Ask for both in writing with the quotation.
When twelve beats two eights
One doorway, one queue, one software licence: a 12 slot cabinet is simpler to run than two 8 slot stations in the same room. Two doors, two queues, two returns: two stations win, because the guest walks less to give the pack back.
The deciding question is not the bay count. It is how many doors the route has, and how far a guest will walk at closing time.
The counter length problem
Most bars do not have the counter length a 12 slot cabinet needs. That is why the stackable form exists: two 6 bay modules stacked, on a footprint closer to a single counter unit, and separable when one of them needs service.
Stackable or fixed
Fixed when the site is permanent and the cabinet never moves again. Stackable when the same cabinet has to work a venue in the week and an event at the weekend, or when the venue plans to rearrange the room in a year.
- Packed weight per module, and who lifts it.
- Cable length from the cabinet to the nearest circuit.
- Whether the stacked modules report to the same back office as one site.
