Stack height and packed weight decide the van, the storage room and who lifts the module. All three are cheaper to change before the order.
Stacking is a logistics feature
A stackable unit is bought by operators who move: event contractors, pop-up venues, a bar with a festival calendar. The bays matter less than the packed form, because the cost of the season is the transport and the labour, not the cabinet.
Between events
Storage is where stackable units earn their keep. Stacked and covered in a dry room, a set of modules takes a corner instead of a wall, and the packs stay with the units rather than in a separate box that gets lost.

- One person able to lift a module, or a trolley that fits the stack.

The packing list
Every season that loses money loses it to a missing cable, a missing signage board or a module that arrives without its packs. One list, checked at load and at teardown, is the cheapest control in the operation.
